Babysitting Charlie Dog + Other Things

I am not an animal lover. And especially not a dog lover. I like animals outside where I feel they belong, and dogs in my house gross me out. However, a dear friend asked me if I could watch her dog this week, so that she could drive to Utah to help her mom. Her mom was just diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. I was more than happy to do this service for her! He was a very well behaved dog. And I don't think I have seen my kids happier! I may have washed all our blankets and vacuumed for an hour after he left today, but  he was fun while he was here.

Maddux is so funny. He has alot of talents. He doesn't know how blessed he is to be given so many! Baking is one of them. He made this little cupcake in Jadyns easy bake all on his own. Then he said,  "mom can you please take a picture."
Saturdays are my favorite. I sleep in and I usually wake up to kids playing together. This Saturday there was hardly any fighting. Just superheros running around. Jadyn colored this bat so Maddux could be Batman. He wore it all day.
I don't want them to ever grow up. Please play superheroes forever.
Speaking of growing up. We have another reader! Maddux reading to Bodey at night melts my heart.

I am still fighting this cold. Everyone else has recovered. I still have the cough, my immune system is really weak due to pregnancy. At least that's what the internet tells me. Google can be rough. I have diagnosed myself with all sorts of crazy diseases lately.

Pat traveled to Cheyenne this week.

Influenza

I am dying a slow and painful death in my own home. . . The influenza made our way through our house. It started with Jadyn who rested and recovered. Then Maddux and Bodey who seem to be on the uphill. Then myself... unlike my children however I don't get the luxury of being taken care of. I still get to take care of them, and for this I always stay sicker than everyone else. It's now been a week and I still feel quite awful. On this lovely Martin Luther King Jr  Day, Jadyn hasn't gotten out of her pajamas. My kids have watched TV for a great deal of the day and fought for the other part. And I have laid on the floor and given my best shot at resting. And caught up on blogging.  But I know I can't handle another day of tv watching and chip eating. Because as a mother that is almost more painful than coughing up my lungs for 2 more weeks.

2014 New Years Resolutions

I know some people hate New Years Resolutions. But I actually happen to love them.

2014 is looking like it is going to be a crazy year! There are alot of big changes happening for our family. Including making this family a party of 6.

Keeping in mind that the next year will most likely be extremely chaotic and that I will most likely be sleep deprived for most of it. My goals are simple.

1. Keep things Simple! Simple life is easier and happier.
2. Focus more on my kids and let other things that don't matter go. (aka painting an entire house from top to bottom) I accomplished that goal in 2013 and I will not be doing it again. Hopefully ever!
3. Family Pictures
4. Run some races.
5. Be released as the Primary President. (kidding people, kidding.)
6. Record our stories bettter.
7.Make dinner. Eat healthier.
8. And I literally do mean this Don't lose my mind.

Jadyn's goals 2014

1. Learn how to jump rope
2. Get better at soccer
3. Go swimming as much as possibe
4. Eat out at least once a month

(my specific goal for her this year is to not let her give up on piano lessons)

 Madduxs Goals 2014

        1. Climb to the top of a very high mountain
     2. Play on my swing set once a week
3. Go Swimming
4. Get a Dog (this will not be happening)

(my goal for Maddux this year is to help him with patience)

Bodeys Goals 2014

1.All I got out of him was swimming

(My goal for Bodey is get him ready for kindergarten the next year. Work on seperation anxiety. Being Social ect.)

Christmas Card Pictures (that I never sent out)

Why you ask? Mostly because I got my kids done. And then I laminated way to many little books for primary. And then I made the awful drive to Utah in the middle of a snowstorm. And then I gave up on trying to finish all the other things I hadn't accomplished and decided to just enjoy being with my family.
So Merry Christmas 2013. From the Cheevers. From my blog, and a month late!

Sledding and four wheeling with Uncle Kris

All of their faces. Ha Ha Ha. (FYI) This was not a big hill, or scary by any means. :)
Jadyn was having fun. My back was getting bruises all over it!

Girls will be Girls or more like Jadyn will be Jadyn

This was also another Christmas present that Jadyn was thrilled with. She actually screamed when she opened it. I mean like shrill screaming. Little did I realize a pedicure set required some much supervision. It's Jadyn, of course it does. :)

Sadie Doll

Jadyn has been wanting a doll that looks like her for a long time. Santa brought this one for Christmas.

Aunt Jessica whipped up 3 new outfits on the sewing machine for her. Plus a matching skirt for Jadyn. Jessica is nice.
She has been a treasured possession of Jadyns ever since.

Skiing the Beav

The day started out quite comical. I put Madduxs skis on him and he immediately stood up and started skiing down the hill and then fell, skis all tangled up. It took me awhile to get to him,  because I had to help Bodey get his skis on. And that's basically how the rest of the day went, one kid taking off and falling..
I watched the parents with one child attached to them with a rope and I felt jealous, as all our kids tumbled down the hill. It really was quite a site.

Bodey ran into a few people before he figured out how to pizza.
However after awhile, our kids started to get the hang of it. And on their own as me and Pat could not keep track of all 3 of them at the same time. They all learned how to get on the magic carpet by themselves.
It ended up being alot of fun.
After we were done Jadyn and Bodey refused to walk up the hill. Ha Ha. I was glad we had decided to just do a half day. And Bodey immediately fell asleep in the truck on the way back to Kansas.

Twenty Nine!

Feeling pretty happy, and loved, and old.

2013 Christmas Post

(This post contains far too many pictures of my kids in their elf pajamas.) So sorry in advance.
Christmas cookies and a santa reading at the elementary school.
Lydia really wanted to be in the picture too. :)

 Train ride at the mall.
Guess which elf did not want to take a picture with Santa? Holy Moly Maddux was a grouch this Christmas! He likes routines, and when you mess with his routine.... Whew, I think he spent half his December in time-out.

We opened presents at our house before we headed to Utah for Christmas.
Bodey wanted to get his picture taken with every present. :)

Madduxs new "Boy" coat. There is a funny story behind this and this picture will always make me laugh.

One of our friends was getting their kids the new wii U. So they asked if we wanted their old one. The boys were thrilled. Maddux has been asking for a wii for 3 years now. Lucky Boy, I probably would have never bought him one. I hate video games!

A storm was coming and so we packed up and left for Utah that night to try and avoid bad weather. Maddux took this picture of me on the way there. It sums up how I feel about traveling. I am an awful traveler! Probably way worse than my kids. I hate it! Ugh I hate it sooooo much.
He also took this picture of himself. Ha Ha. He is next in line for the hatred of traveling. I am by far the worst and then Maddux. Bodey does fine and Jadyn does ok. And Pat he could drive for days and not be affected.
But we made it! Christmas Eve!

Christmas Morning. Grandpa doing his thing. This year we heard the story of John the Baptist.

Kris was acting a little strange christmas morning. He literally made my kids run through a scavenger hunt he had made for them. Ha Ha. Then he ran out the door saying he had things to do and places to be?!  Later on we recieved this picture, and it all made sense. Still laughing and so happy for them!

It's tradition to take pictures in front of the tree.
The kids each took turns making awful poses so that all our pictures look super awkward.
These are the best kind of pictures though. Jadyns pose, Madduxs face, Bodeys hands. Hee Hee.

It was a Merry Merry Christmas.
