School Papers and Keeping it Real

Some melt our hearts.

My dad likes to play ball with me.
True Story. Pat and Maddux spend hours playing ball.

I want to be a mom because I want kids. I want to be a mom because it will be fun. I want to be a mom because I love my mom.  I want to be a mom because I want to be nice to my kids. I want to be like my mom.

(this made me feel on top of the world as a parent this day)

And some I'd rather they just not share.
My Chicken attacks me and my brother. I'm sure his kindergarten teacher thinks we are the weirdest family.

I can only hope that Jadyns teacher has read "Heaven is here" and understands why my daughter would draw a picture of a burned woman. "nigh nigh" or you know Nie Nie.

I recently let Jadyn read this blog. The first night I let her she went back and read the past 2 years, before I made her turn off the computer and go to bed. Sometimes she would laugh and laugh. There were a few posts (mostly about the death of her pets) that she said she couldn't read because they were making her cry. And sometimes she would say "Mom you're embarrassing me!"

I didn't have much sympathy. I like to be honest and keep it real. Apparently I have handed this trait down to my kids. And I guess that's ok. Here's to keeping it real, whether your 4, 6, 8, or 29.

N I N E

Today makes 9 years with this guy, holy smokes! I always forget that he is a whole head taller than me until I see a picture of us together. Someone remind me to wear high heels more often. I'd lie and say I think we are getting younger, but when I looked at our wedding pictures today...we look about 12. So I'll just say we are younger at heart. :)

Highlights of a mondee:
Today was a beautiful sunny day. We spent alot of it outside. Rode bikes around the block with friends. Jadyns bird cage that I ordered from e-bay arrived. It's a really cute cage and made me happy. I was in a fabulous mood from the sun, and took the back roads home from school. I let my kids hang their heads out the window. Then I let them take turns driving. This makes me the coolest mom in the world to them. Spring is coming. Oh happy day!

Lowlights of a mondee:
I helped a dear friend pack. My eyes got teary when she gave me a baby present and told me to make sure I sent her a picture. I don't want to send her a picture, I just want her to come over. How can I be losing another friend! I tried to put on several different shirts today and could not find a thing that fit. I had a break down over my enormous belly, and my double chin from pregnancy.  Plus I was having a bad hair day and cried in front of the mirror for 20 min. It was childish and I knew it, but I couldn't help it. Dear pregnancy can you please be over.

Meet Fern

Remember when Jadyn was sad after she found out Yellowy died? Remember how I promised her a real pet? As soon as I said those words I wanted to eat them back up..... But a promise is a promise. So meet Fern.

I searched google over and over for a pet that would work for our family. Me and Pat are pretty picky and really don't want or have time for a pet. Sadly all 3 of my kids really really love animals. This budgie parakeet was the best match I could find.
He's a baby. He will hop onto your finger when you put your finger to his chest. He will also shake your finger.

He requires alot of attention. Which is good because I know he will get it. Wow he is one loved little budgie. Really hoping he stays alive for a few years!

Among other pet news. Bodey found a stray cat. A super tame stray cat? I'm not sure on his whole story. I mean he was digging through our garbage and eating old chicken food. Which made me think no one is feeding him. But on the other hand he is really nice, which strays are usually not that tame. He lets Bodey carry him all over and snuggle his head on him like he's a pillow.  He named him Meowy.  And I love that Bodey loves him, but that he's not ours.  I can put him back outside and I don't have to clean up his poop! What a win win situation.

All Day Everyday

Due to the insane amount of crying Bodey was doing every day before preschool and the insane amount of fits he was throwing when we got to the school... I decided to take him out right before Christmas. I was exausted, he was really exhausted, and I think even his teachers were a bit exhausted. I knew for sure that we weren't going to send him to kindergarten this next fall. I thought for everyone's sanity involved, especially my own, it was best. We pulled him out and we'll try again next year.

Sooo, me and Bodey get to hang out ALL day EVERY single day. What do we do all day, you ask?

Well, I've noticed a pattern. Me and Bodey seem to spend at least some part of our day taking turns taking pictures of each other. Plus one of his favorite things to do is use the self timer and take pictures of the both of us. I usually end up deleting most of these off my phone, because they usually include me with no make-up and pajamas. Or they are blurry plus my head is cut off. But today as I uploaded my pictures from my phone. I couldn't help but laugh.  This is my life and I wouldn't want to be spending it any other way.
Happy Tuesday!

Nightime Ritual

Try to convince the boys they look like girls and that we should cut their hair.
Repeat words numerous times to the boys that mean stop wrestling and messing around and get washed up.
Repeat words numerous times to the boys to stop messing around and wrestling and get in pajamas.
Yell at the boys to get their teeth brushed.
Repeat numerous words to the girl to finish her homework.
Threaten the boys with being grounded.
Sometimes ground them, and then listen to them cry and whine.

Then read them books where they all fight for a spot on my lap. I push them all off and tell them they are suffocating their baby brother. Then they sit as close to me as is possible and laugh at the books. Then we say prayers. Then they beg for more and more books. Then they beg for a drink of water. Then they beg for me or dad to sleep with them. And we turn off lights. And Pat falls asleep in the hallway in between the boys room and the girl room. And I do dishes. And then we do it all again tomorrow night. :) Happy Monday.

Caught Red Handed

Jadyn knows I hate it when she stays up reading late. She does it anyways. Her book choices seem odd to me. If it's fiction, it's either batman books, witches, or fairies. However, she mostly prefers non fiction. Her favorites are people who have gotten in some sort of accident and become triumphant anyways. She loves the story about the surfer girl with one arm. She loves nienie's airplane story. She likes biographies of presidents. She will even sit and read books about electricity. Odd!  I know I didn't think electricity was cool at age 8. Heck I still think reading about electricity is duller than dull.
