The Oldest Sister

She only has little brothers and no little sisters, but she thinks thats ok. But if your the little brother she might kiss your cheeks with red lipstick on. Plus she might beg to fix your hair everyday. And sometimes she will put pink hair chalk in it and lots of gel. And chances are your toenails are painted. Boy colors of course. :) She will also fix you breakfast. And sing wake up songs to you in the morning. Plus she will make you endless and endless books about dogs.

To have a brother

Is special. I couldn't say more about these two. They have a special brother bond. Sometimes the giggles never stop. Sometimes the playing and the talking continue deep into the night......
And sometimes they tackle each other, and sometimes they yell at each other. And sometimes the little brother bites the older brothers finger, until it bleeds and is cut all over. And then, the mom deletes all the games off the i-phone, for forever. And sends them to bed. And we try again tomorrow.

Kansas City's Ski Resort

I was thoroughly un impressed. It was a cold icy hill. Overpriced. And a million other things.  But it was skiing only 3 hours from us. And my husband + children forced me to stay for 7 and a half hours. Til it was dark!

Maddux had to ride the ski lift by himself, but was completely fine with this.

This was their 2nd time skiing and they are already better than me.

Things I forgot

I took Jadyn to pick out her school valentines tonight. This was hard for me for several reasons.

1. I knew she would beg to spend more money than the allowed amount of $10 for school valentines.
 (she did)
2. I knew she would be super indecisive and take an extremely long time to pick the perfect valentines.
(she did)
3. I knew it would have been a 1,000 times easier for me to just grab some fun dips she could write her name on. Like I grabbed a bag of heart airplane candy for Maddux.
(it would have been)

I'm not going to lie and say it was mother/daughter bonding time. It wasn't. It was painful to my patience. In order for me to work on my patience with Mrs. slow I like to put myself in her shoes. Aka, I try to remember what it is like to be 8. So I told her all about my valentines when I was in second grade. Things I had forgotten. I told her how Zach Basset had made me a special valentine. A large heart made out of paper with starbursts inside. It was made special for me, he had different valentines for the rest of the class. I told her how he had asked me if I wanted to go "out" on a piece of paper a week earlier.

And then I laughed and laughed because I had forgotten all about "going out" I still don't really understand what it really means. Jadyn just looked at me, like I was weird. I think the valentine shopping experience was as equally painful for her as it was for me.

Pregnancy + My Weirdness

While at the dentist today the baby was kicking like crazy. Seriously it was probably the most I have ever felt him kick. I just couldn't keep all the excitement of being pregnant to myself. Sometimes it's just so cool. I grabbed my dental hygienists hand and forced her to feel my belly. I knew I was crossing the boundary of personal space. She may not have wanted to feel my baby kick, but I really didn't care. A human is growing inside me, I couldn't help but force her to see how cool it was. She was nice, and ooed and awed for me. Then I think my dentist felt a little left out so she began to feel him kick too. I told Pat about it later on. He thought it was really weird. And.... maybe it was.
This really awesomely awkward picture was due to Bodey messing with my phone a couple weeks ago. It falls in the weird pregnancy woman category also. But again I don't really care.
Hooray for babies.

Sunday

Yesterday I was forced into skiing for 7 and a half hours and today I am so tired. (another post, another day) We arrived home late and I still hadn't fully prepared for my sharing time. Can anyone say PROCRASTINATOR. Lets all say it together. I recently read a article on punctual people. One day I will try and apply it to my life.

I made no bake cookies. Maddux could not get over the fact that you DON'T have to bake them. "I just can't believe we don't have to wait for them to cook." "I just can't believe it"

This was their first time tasting these. They gobbled them up as they sat on my counter. I have complained about my kitchen since we moved here. It's an odd shape. They always sit on the counter and help cook. Which is almost every night. I hope when we move I can find a kitchen they gather around just as much. I've decided to stop complaining about my kitchen since I am already missing it and we haven't moved yet.

Happy Sabbath/Cookie day.

Meet Cheez-It

I love me a good blizzard, and we got a good one.

Meet Cheez-it the snowman. Jadyn and Bodey spent a good 2 hours making this guy. She named him Cheez-it. (because his face is made out of cheez-its) When I asked for a picture with him and her. She said "Ya, Just let me take my hat off, so my hairs not messed up." Bahaha. I'm not exactly sure she understands what hats do to hair. Hee Hee. And then there's the pose. :) Love her, most days.
She keeps praying for him. "Please bless cheez-it that he won't fall over or get ran over"
It's been a week, he is still going strong.

I had my fun, and after 2 hours I was cold! Me and Maddux came in, but I couldn't convince Bodey or Jadyn.

Bodey eventually gave up after he had snow in every crevasse. I think he would have made a good pioneer.
Happy Snow Day!
