Lately Yellowy thought he owned the back porch, and we were getting attacked daily by him. He had pecked Madduxs hand so hard it bled, and he was making us all avoid the back deck. He even chased Maddux all the way around the house one day. It was hilarious. Maddux running and screaming and this little yellow rooster chasing him. Me and Jadyn laughed until I thought I was going to pee my pants.... Despite the humor he provided, I began to get so sick of Yellowy!
I had it one day after being attacked 3 times on the way to the car. I asked Pat to get rid of him and shoot him. He told me to put him on buy/sell trade to see if any one wanted him. I think he just couldn't shoot Jadyns beloved pet. With us moving soon we needed to get rid of him anyways. I knew Jadyn was going to be super duper sad. But I figured we could just tell her he flew south for the winter or something. And I was done with running and screaming to the car every morning!
Kind of luckily for us we didn't have to get rid of him.Yellowy lasted almost a year which was really actually surprising! Last week I woke up in the middle of the night to coyotes howling. I wasn't really worried or scared ,Yellowy has gotten away lots of times. Once some animal came and ate a dead deer that a car had hit and then landed in our front ditch. But they missed Yellowy. However, the next morning he wasn't on the porch and I didn't see him all day. I went to look in the garage and under the deck, all his usual spots. But I couldn't find him. I was secretly happy. And Jadyn seemed to be ok with the fact that he was gone.
However,I guess I didn't look good enough because a few day later Jadyn found him dead in the corner of the garage. Soo sad.
