Monday

Pat took Bodey and Maddux to the doctor today. Bodey got immunizations. Pat said they tried to offer him a sucker afterwards and Bodey yelled at them and told them "no!" I think it's funny. Serves them right. (JK) He also said Bodey threw a ball at Target it hit a fire extinguisher and put ice all over Target. I thought this was funny too.

I laid on the couch with Maddux he said "remember when Celeste pushed that button on the motorcycle and she went to fast and crashed into the ditch." We both laughed, it's funny. He told me that Grandma Valorie doesn't have any kids. I said, "ya she does, I'm her kid." He said "no your a mommy." We argued over this for awhile and finally came to the final decision that grandma Valorie does not have any "kids" any more.

Jadyn lost her star at school today. Awesome. She said it was for coloring a bird with a red marker instead of a red crayon.

We had friends over for dinner and then put mentos in diet coke and watched them shoot out. It was fun. Our friend is a sheriff he came over in uniform and with his police truck. I liked to watch the neighbors do double takes because they thought we were getting arrested. Small town fun.

Pat is traveling the rest of the week. Dumb.

Hi Blog

Update. I decided to put Jadyn in all day kindergarten after all. She went four days half day, but then I really felt like she was missing out. I was the only parent to choose half day in her class and so she was the only kid to leave at lunch. I decided its time to just rip the band-aid off. And it wasn't bad at all. She left happy today and 6 hours later came home happy. Considering some of the other kindergartners were still bawling in the gym, I felt at peace. She even wanted to walk by herself in. Independence. Bitter and Sweet.

Bodey was really sad when both Jadyn and Maddux were gone today. He is still a little confused with the whole school thing. He kept calling out "Jadyn, where are you?" "Jadyn where are you?" I told him she was at school. And he would yell "NO" and start calling for her again. Sad. Funny.

Maddux loves school I think mostly because of the snack time. When I go to pick him up he usually tells me about the snack first. "We had cupcakes and milk. I got to color a dinosaur but I didn't get to bring him home. We made a mat man. We read a book about possums." Lately he doesn't stop talking. I think it is a 4 year old stage I remember Jadyn going through it. Cute and annoying.

For the first time in the past 3 months I actually felt like I had a productive day. Productive in the fact that the kitchen counters were cleaned by 11:00 o'clock and there wasn't folded laundry all over the couch all day. It actually got folded and then put away. I didn't referee any fights. School really isn't so bad.

Halloween Undies

If I wasn't married to Dave Ramsey I would buy these. I think they are so cute. Shop Baby Gap.

Preschool (and other fun stories)

Maddux was so excited for preschool. He couldn't even sleep at night he just kept talking about all the things he was going to do.

He barely even told me bye, I left him playing with the cars. He was happy as a lark. Bodey cried he wanted to stay and play too.

2 kids in school. Yay!

I got home from dropping them off. I walked into Jadyns room and found her underwear still sitting on the bed. She always forgets them! And she picked out a dress today... I threw them in my purse and drove back to the school. The secretary laughed, her teacher laughed. I couldn't help but laugh a little. That darn girl!

Kindergarten

I remember laying out my clothes on the first day of school. She decided on her favorite white flower shirt, rainbow leggings, and a squirt. She also wanted crumpy hair, and I told her I would make her, her favorite breakfast. She said she wanted pink pancakes. After I hit the snooze button twice this morning, she had her favorite cold cereal instead. (oops.)

This smile says mom can we be done taking pictures.

And this is when the photo shoot ended. She started hugging Bodey and Maddux and telling them I love you. And thats when I knew I had to get out of there, I gave her a quick hug and ran for the door before I started to cry.

A week and a half

A week and a half until school starts, and our pool closes. Sad. Very sad.

This is Kianna our babysitter who also just randomly shows up to the house to play with the kids every now and then. I love her. She is like an angel on earth to me. I really don't think my life could function without her.

Can't believe summer is almost over!

Awkward Family Photos

 Brotherly Love

Santa must have been bad this year

Not every idea is a "slam dunk"
Look Away. There wasn't one straight shooter in the family.
Why wait for the wedding night?
Let there be light. This family must have been allergic to cheese.
(awkwardfamilyphotos.com)  I was cracking up. :)

Birthday

Jadyn really wanted a friend party. I told her no. I am mean. She had a list of 20 friends and was not willing to trim it down. I could just not bring myself to terms with having that many kids over. I told her family party. They decorated the cake themselves, made a huge mess. I was sort of a party hater this year. Bodey got a new bike because I ran over his old one with the car. Ha ha. Thats what happens when you leave your toys at the end of the drive-way. Jadyn kept saying I am the luckiest girl ever and this is the best birthday ever. When your 6, cake, balloons, basketballs, and insect cages can make you one happy kid! When your 2 a bike and bat and the excitement of your siblings can make you one happy kid. Happy Birthday to our oldest and youngest.

Today Shes 6

I still remember the day she was born. A headache, my water breaking, packing my hospital bag in between extreme back labor.  Arriving at the hospital, a nurse checking me and saying your at a 7. A epidural and then a baby. (feel free to make fun of pats hair) Happy Birthday to our sweet 6 year old!

And he's 2

I hope that I can remember the day Bodey was born, it wasn't that long ago.I have never written down birth stories. I thought today would be a good day. Since i now know that people tend to forget things. Bodey came the day we moved into our new house, of course he did. When you move boxes around at 9 months pregnant what do you expect. Labor was pretty much the same as all my other kids. Painful back labor that produces babys in about 5 hours from first contractions to baby. All 3 of my kids were basically this way. Bodey took 2 pushes. One for the head and one for the shoulders and my tiny 5 pound 9 ounce baby came out. Happy  2nd Birthday to Bodey Colvin!

(2 and 6 year old pictures to come)

Temple

I think temples are prettiest at night. I love to see the temple, and I finally went inside. It was wonderful. I could type a whole page on my feelings. I'll keep it short. Saturday I had my endowments taken out in the Denver temple. It was rough preparing to go, a heck of alot harder than I thought it was going to be. I could feel Satan working on me, clipping at my heels. But I made it and once I was there, I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with the support of friends and family and ward members. The Webbs drove all the way from Salina to come and I was so glad you guys were there. It's still bringing me to tears when I think about it. Having my sister as a escort and alot of my family there was also a huge blessing. The best word to describe my feelings in the temple is just pure happiness. I have always known and felt that my heavenly father loved me, but in the temple I felt it with more power than i ever have. And that is well worth the struggle it was to get there.
