Yellowy

If you know our family, then you probably know Yellowy our rooster. He has some how become the pride and joy of the family. He even has a portrait of himself hanging on the family photo collage wall.

We have had to save his life several times. We have thrown pumpkins at possums who were trying to eat him. We have brought him inside when he received frost bite on his comb. And we have spent several hours trying to catch him so we could lock him in our garage when we leave on vacation. He has been fed several amounts of table food.

And what do we get in return from him? He occasionally attacks us, especially Bodey. But we forgive him and love him anyways.

Jadyn loves him most and looses sleep worrying about him. And for a good reason. He is not the brightest and doesn't even seem to have survival instincts. He once stayed out on the deck during a ice storm. That morning he was an ice ball. Go in the garage where you have a heat lamp, food, shelter and water! No he is not the brightest. Due to us nursing him back to health, he is still alive... for now.

Documentation of Bodeys Narcolepsy

Naps. He takes them where he can get them. Bodey is 4 and hasn't really taken scheduled naps since he was 2. Sometimes he will go several days without napping. It's hard for me to tell when he needs a nap. Occasionally he will get grumpy and I realize it's because he is tired. But alot of the time Bodey is a happy 4 year old running around and the next thing I know he is dead asleep somewhere.

Shopping seems to be a good place for him to just have a little rest. I have so many pictures of him dead asleep in stores.
One of the weird things about Bodey is he doesnt care about comfort or noise and can sleep in any position and in some of the loudest places.
Or while playing hide and go seek. We finally found him in the closet under the clothes. However he was out cold.
This was at like 9 in the morning. I had just gotten him out of the bath. I told him to go get dressed. When he didn't return I went to see what he was doing. He was asleep on his bed. No warning signs, and it was only 9 am!
He goes to preschool at 12:45. I had to wake him up when we got there.  I'm worried one day I am going to come pick him up and his teacher is going to be like, Bodey actually fell asleep at the table and has been sleeping ever since.
The pictures could go on and on, middle of dinner in a restaraunt, middle of singing time in primary, ect...
So I know what your thinking, the poor child obviously still needs a nap time. Tried it! Doesn't work! He enjoys his random sleeps and so I guess we will just roll with it.

School Pictures 2013

Oh Bodey. You cute. Bodey has gotten much better with preschool although he says he still hates it.
Madduxs confidence has sky rocketed this year. I volunteer in kindergarten and this kid thinks he rules the class. He is respectful, but also very comfortable with his teacher and his peers. He loves school still! And wanted to go back after thanksgiving break.
Jadyn looks crazy old in this picture. Jadyn gets pulled from class to be in the gifted group this year. It is the only part of school she seems to enjoy.
The other night she asked me "what were my favorite things to do when I was 8?" It took me awhile to think. But I told her I loved to play soccer, and I loved to run the Wellsville Mile. I loved to play with my doll Karese and I had a very very best friend named Allison Hunter.

Jadyn and Bodey 8 and 4.

When you try to blog things 5 months after they have happened, things get confusing.

 I do know:
That sometime I let Bodey eat a birthday pancake.
That Jadyn got a schwinn bike.
That I took 25 cupcakes with ballons in them to the school.
That Jadyn seemed very pleased and happy with those cupcakes.
That Bodey got a fish he named fishy, fishy, fishy. Then later on re-named it Blueberry Jackson.
That on their actual birthday we went to jumping joes with Faith, Alex and Maia.
Sometime we went swimming.
I made a cake that was half pink and half yelllow.

The rest is a blurr. Hence why you should not wait 5 months to blog.

Maddux 6!

I realize this was like 4 plus months ago. Eek. Plus this is all the pictures I could find from his special day. :(
Wake up, wake up Birthday Boy!

One of the bummers about having your birthday during the school year is you have to go to school that day!

I do remember going to his class that day with cupcakes. And party favors for everyone. I also think we ate at red lobster that night. His favorite restaurant. I hope we made him feel special.

Thanksgiving 2013

We spent an hour trying to catch Yellowy before we left. So we could lock him in the garage. ...He is a whole other story and deserves his own post. coming soon. As much as I hate traveling. And I mean I really really hate traveling!!! It was nice to spend thanksgiving with family.

Maddux made this turkey center piece at school. He was soooo proud of it. He made sure to pack it and checked every time we stopped to make sure it hadn't fallen out of the car. (we have lost a few things that way) He also made sure it made it onto the thanksgiving table. I do have to say it was a pretty sweet turkey and it must have taken some time to color. Love that Maddux to pieces.

I am almost positive I have a picture of Jadyn peeling potatoes last thanksgiving.
My mother in-law is the queen of thanksgiving. She does not mess around with her food. Did I mention she basically single handedly cooks thanksgiving dinner almost every year. 19 people. I'm feeling guiltier by the minute as I type this! I should also mention that she is probably the first reason I was attracted to Pat. He smelled soo good. Her laundry is clean and fresh and smells heavenly. Later on I realized his good smells were all his mothers hard work. She is a very unselfish and amazing person.  And her laundry and her thanksgiving food rock.

 The Cheevers
 And more of the Cheevers
And this one we call the crazy grandma. She doesn't mind. Bodey calls her the kissing grandma. She does give alot of kisses. She is one of my favorite Cheevers. I hope my kids got some of her crazy in them. She is a hoot and we love her.

This picture is credit to Maddux. Ha it captures thanksgiving to a T. This is what I do every time somebody turns football on.
It's no secret that the dogs are the highlight of both Grandma Janices and Grandma Valories for my kids. They had just recieved pumpkin spice baths. Maddux wanted to sleep with  the dogs but I wouldn't let him.
The next night when we were at the Whiteheads, he wanted to sleep in a cardboard box.  I did let him do that. Although, I'm not sure why. I wish I would have taken a picture.
Me and Pat spent Black Friday shopping. We shopped till we dropped and my kids are completely done, Santa and all! I love to be done early because December is always crazy and I like to enjoy it not stress it.
Saturday we went to the Whiteheads and helped them set up their tree. Every single branch had to be attached individually. And then lights.... I felt spoiled. Our tree comes in 3 pieces with lights. I have even stopped taking it down and just store it straight up. All I do is have Pat carry it out of the basement.

Other things to note at the Whiteheads.
Faith decorated Jadyn as a christmas tree.
Jadyn turned her shirt around backwards and hid under the tree because she was a present.
All 5 kids decide to run away. This is an improvement from when 6 kids decided to run away the last time they all got together. :)
Maia sat on my lap for the first time.
Bodey cried alot because Maddux and Alex were playing together.
I took a nap on the floor and didn't really help do anything while I was there.
Bodey cried more when we left.
Both Yellowy and Blueberry Jackson were still alive when we got home!

Happy Thanksgiving
