Being my bright self I went and mowed the lawn. We were out of repellent which was unfortunate. But the lawn was long and i hate the lawn being long. Not that the repellant did a great job of not letting them bite anyways... But it was a stupid idea. I got bit A LOT. And the mosquitos were big and there bites hurt. So much that I had to quit mowing and come inside. My stomach and thighs were itching like crazy. The next day the mosquito bites turned into a small rash.
It quickly began to get worse. I got very nauseous, fever, chills. I was in bad shape.
I visited stat care and they told me the bites had become infected. He said "this should clear it right up" as he handed me the prescription. I was given a cream and 2 antibiotics. Unfortunately it didn't clear it right up though, instead of getting better the rash spread more and more. And I began looking like a burn victim.
This was the inside of my thigh. My entire butt and private parts were covered in this rash. The itching was insane. I literally bought every anti itch product available. I think my total at Walgreens was like $80 for just bottles of anti itch medicine. But not a single one helped.
I even was so low that i stooped to
searching the Internet for things to help. I found things like, rubbing banana peels on your skin ect. And i tried them. Thinking back, that was dumb. But I was irrational and desperate, And i felt slightly crazy. My kids knew i was extremely short tempered. The medicine the doctor gave me made me feel really loopy and moody. Besides the fact that i sort of just wanted to die and be put out of my misery. I was also here by myself. Pat was in Cheyenne at the time. My poor kids.
The only thing that made me feel better was a little comb which I used to gently scratch. Ahh it would feel so good, and then the itching would go away for a little while. But afterwards i would get very sick and nauseous. So I knew I wasn't doing myself any favors by giving in to the itch.
P.S. the only reason I have pictures is because I kept sending them to my nurse friends and my family and saying oh please help me. They didn't have much advice.
After about three days, which felt more like 300 days in my condition. I finally smartened up and asked for a priesthood blessing. Lucky for me I received one from someone in our ward who is also a doctor. I immediately began feeling better after the blessing. And he also gave me some doctor advice. I am so thankful for the priesthood and for worthy men who hold it. And are willing to come over and give me a blessing.
I eventually healed. After the rash was there no one would say infected mosquito bites, i dont know if it was west nile or a allergic reaction or heaven knows what it was. I do know one thing for absolute sure and that is i never ever want to be that sick again! The End.
